Billboard Sender Identity and Character Data Validation

ED

Hello Team,

In one observed case, the nickname displayed in the Billboard message was different from the nickname shown in the player's Character Information window.

For example:

Billboard sender nickname: A

Character Information nickname: B

The same player also appeared to have abnormal character information loading behavior.

This may indicate that the Billboard sender identity and the character/profile identity are not being validated or resolved from the same authoritative character data.

Could the technical team please investigate the following areas?

Whether Billboard sender information is fully server-authoritative

Whether the client can influence or modify the Billboard sender nickname

Whether Billboard messages are validated against the authenticated Character/Account ID

Whether Billboard sender data and Profile/Character data use the same canonical identity

Whether empty, invalid, or inconsistent sender fields are rejected server-side

Whether abnormal Billboard requests can bypass normal broadcast-item or permission validation

Whether client-side hooks or UI manipulation could alter the displayed Billboard sender information

In particular, it may be useful to compare the server-side Character ID, Account ID, nickname, and Billboard sender data for the same message.
