Cheater Causing Players to Disconnect from Pet Town Rooms

Nippon

I would like to report a serious issue that appears to allow certain players to disconnect other players from the same room.

I first noticed this behavior in Pet Town with a player named ĦĦĦ. The player would enter a room, move toward an NPC, become stuck in place while the walking animation continued, and shortly afterward the other players in the room would be disconnected.

I recently realized the same behavior with another player named Shâco. What makes this especially suspicious is that the same behavior is not limited to Pet Town.

I have also observed this happening in other rooms, including Mushroom, Club Hive, and Bar Purple. In these rooms, the player again approaches an NPC, appears to get stuck while the walking animation continues, and then the other players are disconnected.

This makes me suspect that the issue may not be related to a specific NPC such as [Pet Racing] Aileen, but rather to an exploit involving NPC interactions in general.

My suspicion is that the player may be sending an abnormal or excessive number of commands/requests related to an NPC, potentially causing a client-server synchronization problem. This could possibly cause the server to lose or terminate its connection with the other players in the room.

I cannot confirm the exact technical mechanism, but the repeated pattern is very consistent:

Player enters a room → approaches an NPC → character becomes stuck while the walking animation continues → shortly afterward, other players are disconnected.

The fact that this has been observed with different players, different rooms, and different NPCs makes me believe this should be investigated as a possible general NPC-related exploit rather than an isolated Pet Town issue.

Please investigate the accounts ĦĦĦ and Shâco, and especially investigate how NPC movement/interactions are handled server-side. If possible, server logs from the affected rooms may help identify what happens immediately before the mass disconnections.
